OUR MOMENTUM
Three generations. One shared ambition.
SIPIAN has never followed a predetermined path.
Each generation has chosen its own.
In the 1970s, in the heart of the Médoc vineyards,
My grandparents work for a leading industry.
He was the manager, she was paid at a fixed price.
But their horizons extend further.
They acquired their own gravelly lands near the Gironde
a demanding, frost-free terroir, full of promise.
In the evenings and on weekends, they plant, build, and make wine.
The wine goes to the cooperative. The ambition, however, grows elsewhere.
Upon his return from military service, my father made a radical choice:
to market the estate's wine himself.
He takes his car, crosses France and then Europe.
Wine shop after wine shop.
SIPIAN is becoming a reference for more than 700 independent professionals.
Meanwhile, wine cellars and buildings are rising, stone by stone.
Despite a classification dating back to 1932, in 2008 a decision was made:
to voluntarily withdraw from the Crus Bourgeois classification of the Médoc in order to chart a free course.
Don't be forced into a framework. Choose your own direction.
In 2014, a new generation arrived with a conviction:
Médoc wine can evolve with the times.
To create wines that embrace their time,
faithful to their gravelly terroir,
but open to the world, capable of existing in fine French cellars as well as on international tables.
From day one, SIPIAN has moved forward with the same energy:
transforming work into vision, and vision into signature.

Arrival of the first white grape variety on the property:
the SEMILLON
